The US subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom could be getting a new CEO.
At the world’s most valuable mobile company, T-Mobile US, a leadership change may be looming. According to several people familiar with the matter, the CEO of Deutsche Telekom’s US subsidiary, Mike Sievert, could leave the executive board.
Sievert could vacate the CEO position this year or next, the insiders said. His current contract runs until April 2028. The Bellevue-based company near Seattle generated 64.8 percent of Deutsche Telekom’s revenue and 71.3 percent of its adjusted pre-tax profit last year.
Neither Sievert nor T-Mobile nor Deutsche Telekom commented on the request. T-Mobile has grown strongly in mobile in recent years. The next phase begins now, with an ambitious strategy for the fibre rollout.
The most promising candidate for the succession, according to the insiders, is Srini Gopalan – currently chief operating officer and previously head of Deutsche Telekom’s German business.
