Privacy notice

The overarching goal of this site is to collect as little personal data as possible. There is no analytics tool, no tracking cookie and no advertising integration. This notice describes which data is processed nonetheless and why. The legally binding version is the German Datenschutzerklärung.

Hosting & server logs

This site is hosted by netcup GmbH (Daimlerstraße 25, 76185 Karlsruhe, Germany) on a shared web-hosting server. With every request, the server automatically logs access data (date, time, requested URL, transferred bytes, browser type, operating system, referrer URL, anonymised IP address). This data is used exclusively to keep the site running and to defend against attacks. Legal basis: Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest). Logs are automatically deleted after at most seven days.

No analytics, no tracking

This site uses no analytics or tracking tools (no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no Plausible, no Matomo etc.). No cookies are set. Visits are not traced back to individuals.

Newsletter waiting list (Workshop notes)

If you sign up to the Werkstattbericht waiting list, we store your e-mail address along with a timestamp of your consent, a hashed fingerprint of your IP address and your browser's user agent. The data is used solely to send the newsletter and to document your consent (legal basis: Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR). We use a double-opt-in process; if you don't click the confirmation link in the first e-mail, your data is deleted automatically after seven days. You can unsubscribe at any time with one click via the link in every e-mail. Data resides only on the netcup server; no external newsletter provider is used.

Contact

When you reach us by e-mail or via a contact form, the data you submit (name, e-mail address, message) is processed exclusively to handle your inquiry (legal basis: Article 6 (1) (b) and (f) GDPR). The data is deleted after the conversation ends, unless statutory retention periods apply.

Handelsblatt AI Briefing

The link to the AI Briefing leads to a landing page operated by Handelsblatt Media Group. Their privacy notice applies for any data processing on that page.

YouTube embeds

Some content pages embed videos from YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Embeds use youtube-nocookie.com (extended privacy mode): data is only transmitted to YouTube once you click "Play". Google's privacy notice: policies.google.com/privacy.

Bookseller links

The book pages link out to external platforms such as genialokal.de, buchhandel.de, Thalia, Amazon and Verlag Herder. Their respective privacy notices apply to processing on those sites.
